Two Local Maine Restaurants, One Outstanding Brewery
Nonesuch River Brewing began with friends who kept sharing better beer and a bigger idea. That idea became a place where beer is brewed, and fresh food is made from scratch. A place where guests feel taken care of. We call it “Beer in Balance.” It is simple to say and takes daily work to do.
Our team brews on site in Scarborough and cooks in both Scarborough and Poland. We welcome families, friends, and coworkers who want a spot that is easy to love.
Our path from garage batches to a working brewery
The founders built Nonesuch River Brewing because they believed their Scarborough neighborhood needed a spot that could serve beer and food that are made for each other. The Scarborough building rose with care, with a warm post and beam room, a mezzanine for gatherings, and a deck that opens with the season.
Our second location in Poland followed from a love for the area and its lake. It is relaxed and classic Maine. We brew in Scarborough and bring that fresh goodness to both restaurants. We like to think that is the very essence of great local breweries.

Beer should be bright, clean, and ready for the plate it meets. Our brewers focus on balance and drinkability, not hype. That shows up in how we write recipes, set ABV targets, and taste through each batch.
From the kitchen
Dressings, sauces, and staples are made from scratch in-house. Menus shift with the seasons, so something new always sits beside the favorites your table knows.
Community at the center
We host small fundraisers and neighborhood nights, and love seeing local teams and clubs gather here. The Mug Club brings regulars together with simple perks and a reason to stop in.
